Emergent Practice

Emergent Practice is a thematic program highlighting diverse arts-based curriculum and research modalities being explored by emerging artists, early learners, contemporary arts centres and educators. It is comprised of a group exhibition entitled Phenomenology featuring North Island College ECUAD External BFA graduates. The show links the diverse practice of these emerging artists through their arts-based research centred on phenomenology, a philosophical study of how one experiences, perceives and interprets events and their relationship to them. Concurrent with this exhibition, local Early Learning Centres will present the work of their students in CVAG’s Community Space, with a focus on the connectivity of art and daily life.
