join us for a collaborative make-art project

(hanging) BY A THREAD evokes subjective and collective images such as risk, vulnerability, play, resilience, innovation, uncertainty, reinvention, adaptation, hope and alternative  perspectives. Terry Helwig, Founder of The Thread Project, a global work created in response to 9/11 to inspire tolerance and compassionate community, states: Some say our world is hanging by a thread. I say – a thread is all we need.

Artists Sarah Bergeron, Fiona Thomson and Lukas Roy invite you to participate in a community art making collaboration starting on September 2, leading up to the exhibition opening of BY A THREAD on September 26th. The make-art community project will continue on site in the George Sawchuk Gallery during the run of the show until November 1st.  The artists have seeded this art project through their experiments with drawing, painting, collage, and text, to find places of intersection and dialogue with the theme.  The community is invited to participate and contribute to this make-art project by adding responses, inspirations and interpretations in relation to the theme (hanging) by a thread.  Join us at the gallery and add your thread.
