INTO THE LIGHT

Exhibitions, and events that celebrate the Comox Valley Art Gallery as a vibrant organization over 50 years — from its inception to the present day — and the development of a modern contemporary art gallery spaces that presents the work of artists across Canada and beyond.

The selection chosen for Into the Light offers insights into the Gallery’s fifty-year story. The permanent collection was largely assembled before 2012 and has been stored in the permanent collection room in the gallery’s lower level.

Some of the artwork represents individuals who are integral to the gallery’s story. The style and spectrum of materials is a testament to the rise of contemporary art practice within the region since the 1960s.
