ARTIST TALK WITH Q&A
George Littlechild will return to the Comox Valley Art Gallery on Saturday, November 8, to present a formal artist talk about his bodies of work that are currently on exhibition:
- Here I am – can you see me? | Touring exhibition organized by the Art Gallery of Alberta and curated by MJ Belcourt
- Displaced Indians: The Sixties Scoop | A body of work first shown at Urban Shaman Gallery in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 2017
- Artworks – past and present | A selected collection of older and new works
- The Spirit Giggles Within | A video montage inspired by the artist’s book of the same title
After the talk at 1:00pm, there will be an opportunity for attendees to ask the artist questions. Hospitality will be provided.
This is a free event. All are welcome.
CONTENT ADVISORY: This program addresses the difficult history of the Indian Residential School system in Canada, the tragic death and loss of over 5,000 Indigenous children, the Sixties Scoop and their destructive impact on the lives of individuals, families, and generations of those involved.

This event is part of an expansive program at the Comox Valley Art Gallery called George Littlechild: Hope for a better world.

Staff are available to answer any questions and to provide orientation to the presentation and gallery spaces.
