URBAN JUNGLE JAM
Join us this July for the second Pulse on the Plaza event of the season. Get ready for a vibrant evening of live music, dancing, and hands-on art activities — fun for all ages and all members of the community!
Entertainment Line-Up:
5:00 – 5:30pm | DJ host MR. MARK BERG-E weaves playful, genre-blending soundscapes that ignite the dance floor — from house and D&B to disco, funk, bass, and organica.
5:30pm | Led by Wendy Nixon Stothert, the CV POP-UP CHOIR performs “Jungle Love” by the Steve Miller Band! (Meet at 4:00pm to rehearse. Lyric sheets will be provided.)
6:00 – 7:00pm | Rapper, singer, and songwriter ALICK MAC brings powerful lyrics and raw energy!
7:00 – 8:00pm | BEAU NECTAR, a bilingual synth-pop/folk duo with nature-inspired themes, lights up CVAG Plaza!
8:00 – 9:00pm | DJ host MR. MARK BERG-E returns with cool beats to dance and vibe to!
5:00 – 9:00pm | CHARLIE KARUMI’s pop-up podcast More of That, Please! invites you to share what you want more of in the world. Stop by his booth, grab the mic, and add your voice to the conversation!

Art + Activities (5:00 – 9:00pm):
- CV/Arts Art Wagon | Contribute to Piece by Piece, an interactive community art project.
- CVAG Make Art Station | Create a fun, family-friendly craft!
- Silk-Screening with Andy MacDougall | Make your own print to take home under the guidance of Wachiay Studio’s screen print expert.
- Draw Together | Friends or total strangers are invited to participate a blind drawing activity guided by Kelly Broza.
- Enjoy a refreshing drink from the Cumberland Forest Society | Alcoholic and non-alcoholic options available.
SUMMER PULSE ON THE PLAZA
Summer Pulse on the Plaza continues on the fourth Fridays of August and September — each month bringing a unique celebration of community and creativity.
This series is brought to you in collaboration with Comox Valley Art Gallery, Comox Valley Arts, Elevate the Arts, and the Downtown Courtenay Business Improvement Association.
