ENGAGING THROUGH STORY, IMAGINATION, + IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCE
This two-hour walking tour, led by Meaghan Cursons, engages participants in an exploration of the history and ecology of the Comox Lake Watershed and how we’re all “Connected by Water” in the Comox Valley, the Salish Sea region, and the planet.
Source Encounters explores:
- the geological origins of Vancouver Island
- prehistoric oceans and ice ages
- Indigenous and settler presence on the landscape
- logging and mining land ownership complexities
- climate change, human impacts, and the complex issues our watershed faces today
The goal of the tour is to build local knowledge and share stories and ideas about how we create a healthy, climate resilient watershed.
