Moonlight & Magic Returns to Downtown Courtenay with a tropical twist!
The official launch of the festive winter season is coming up on Friday, November 14, when Moonlight & Magic hits the streets of beautiful Downtown Courtenay! This much anticipated celebration features interactive art, music, crafts and face painting zones, food trucks, roving performers, street dancing, the tree light up, gallery events, and merchant specials throughout Downtown.
This year’s theme is “Tropical Paradise” where the Island rhythms meet the Magic in the streets! From amazing DJs to art projects to incredible local food trucks, Moonlight & Magic has so much to offer. The festivities begin at 5:00pm and continue through to a fiery finale on upper Duncan Avenue (right in front of CVAG) at 8:30pm!

The Comox Valley Art Gallery will be open late during Moonlight & Magic.
While you are here for the festivities, make sure to pop inside to view our current program, George Littlechild: Hope for a better world. This is your last chance to view Littlechild’s exhibitions, as the final day of the program is Saturday, November 15.
On view in the Community Gallery in CVAG’s entrance, there is also an exhibition of screen prints from the Wachiay Residency 2025 and Bags of Hope created by students for Everybody Deserves a Smile 2025.
Complimentary hot apple cider will be available to CVAG visitors, and we will be hosting free art-making activities outside on CVAG Plaza.

CVAG spaces are accessible. Efforts are made to make presented programming contents available to all by using approachable audio and visual technologies to aid in experience, way finding signage. Staff are available to answer any questions and to provide orientation to the presentation and gallery spaces.
Programs are barrier-free (no cost). DONATIONS are appreciated and contribute to ongoing community interactive programming.
