Kitchen Table Dialogue: Artist Talks, Cultural Sharing, Responsive Discussion

Join the conversation Sunday, September 30 10am – 4pm

The community is invited to a day of learning and meaningful dialogue inspired by the Hiłt̕sist̕a’a̱m (The Copper Will Be Fixed) exhibition presented at the Comox Valley Art Gallery in collaboration with the Kumugwe Cultural Society.

The Potlatch 67–67: The Potlatch Ban Then and Now has opened up many conversations.
On Sunday, September 30 the community will have an opportunity to participate in a community engagement event that builds upon the conversations resulting from the Potlatch 67–67 thematic convergent program. The Kitchen Table Dialogue offers participants an opportunity to discuss actions that instigate reconciliation in their lives and communities.

The day begins at 10 am with a guided tour of the current exhibition at CVAG, led by Cultural Carriers and participating artists. A facilitated “kitchen table dialogue” over lunch at the Native Sons Hall will follow.

This event, sponsored by the Comox Valley Community Justice Centre, is offered free of charge, but space is limited.
