Special Presentation at CVAG:

The MMIWG2S+ awareness walk on Tuesday, May 5 (Red Dress Day), will lead attendees through Downtown Courtenay and past the Comox Valley Art Gallery, where there will be an outward-facing presentation in two window spaces that will be visible to passersby.

These pop-up window presentations at CVAG are in support of: Red Dress Day 2026 – MMIWG2S+ Awareness Event.

Please join us in wearing red and attending the community event for Red Dress Day 2026.

The event will include speakers, a walk, community education, and more from 12:00 – 3:00pm. Everyone is invited to learn about, remember, and honour Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit+ people and their families.

Doors open at the Florence Filberg Centre (411 Anderton Avenue, Courtenay) at 12:00pm, the opening ceremony begins at 1:30pm followed by speakers and the community awareness walk.

This event is organized by Indigenous Women’s Sharing Society and Unbroken Chain.
