In conjunction with MAP: Make / Art / Place, the Comox Valley Art Gallery invites documentation from artists, writers, collectives and groups, which explores variations on mapping practice and visual interpretations of place. This exhibition is a form of witness practice, comprised of images, texts, symbols and objects that continue to be embedded in the community gallery space in relation to the paths and places identified by the maps articulated on the walls. This accumulative MAP project has expanded over the course of the summer and fall of 2016, and continues to offer diverse expressions of our community life.
“Dimensions of the Season continues the MAP: Make/Art/Place project has provided a jumping off point for thinking about the many ways in which we experience this season of celebration.
What happens when we pause and observe the world without the seasonal focus?
What can be seen besides the obvious markers of the season?
What or who is being overlooked?
What else is going on?

Pop up make postcard events will extend community interaction opportunities. Partipant activities will be recorded and located on the Community Gallery Map and in a Facebook album.
