Comox BC based painter, Judi Pedder exhibits a selection of watercolour paintings on traditional and Masa paper. Sourced from photographs taken mainly in her floral garden, Pedder’s plant and flower imagery is articulated in water and pigments onto papers which have been prepared and stretched onto canvases. Included in this exhibit are works of dye on silk, demonstrating a vocabulary of colour, shape, line and flow.
Judi was born and educated in England, re-locating to Canada in 1966. She began studying watercolours seriously in the 1990’s and began exhibiting her works in 1995. Based in Comox since 2006 and now retired, she is an active member of several arts organizations in the mid-Vancouver Island region, has participated in the Comox Valley Originals Only and Art in Bloom Festivals from 2006-12 and actively exhibits at local and regional galleries. Her works are frequently selected for awards, greeting cards, and calendars.
